Program Overview

The MSc Environmental Transition and Energy Management aims to meet the needs of companies operating in the fields of energy and environmental transition by combining technical expertise with managerial skills developed throughout the program.

Course structure

The M.Sc. in Environmental Transition and Energy Management is delivered over four semesters (two academic years) and includes a total of 748 hours of face-to-face teaching, fully conducted on campus and in English at the Esaip (231 hours in Semester 1, 190 hours in Semester 2, 217 hours in Semester 3, and 110 hours in Semester 4 for the academic period). The teaching approach combines lectures, case studies, tutorials, group projects, professional seminars, and methodological workshops, following an active learning approach focused on innovation and professional development.

Semester 4 also includes a 4-to-6-month professional internship, leading to the completion of a master’s thesis (20 ECTS) supervised by both an academic tutor (teacher-researcher) and a company supervisor. Three methodological workshops prepare students for the thesis process. Assessment is based on continuous evaluation, intermediate deliverables, oral presentations, and a final defense before a jury.

An energy transition manager oversees the development of renewable energies. They propose action plans to improve energy efficiency and contribute to energy cost management and the monitoring of energy systems.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY ENGINEER

An energy efficiency engineer aims to optimise energy consumption in buildings. He/she carries out energy audits upstream and work during the design phase of projects by performing thermal calculations.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT MANAGER

An environmental project manager implements environmental protection policies and programs within organisations to reduce the environmental impact of activities. He/she develops recommendations and propose sustainable solutions aligned with production or profitability objectives.
